Obregonia denegrii

This is another one of those plants which doesn't need a flower to catch your attention. For this reason it is quite well known. However it has a reputation for being very hard to grow.
But it isn't really all that difficult if it is given a dry winter rest and limited watering the rest of the year, bright, filtered sun, and a potting mix with extremely good drainage. The reward: a highly decorative and sculptural plant.

  1. Just 5 minutes ago I was looking at my own Obregonia and I thought that this is a REAl sloooooow grower. Mine doesn't like bright sun at all resulting in ugly burns.

  2. Hi Yaten. Yes, I should have said "bright 'filtered' sun, as it can sunburn quite readily. My bad!
